That’s the vision that drives a lot of what we do as a church.
Jesus’ last command was to make disciples of all nations. We believe that everyone is called to be a minister and engage in the life-changing work of spreading the gospel to the ends of the earth.
The vehicle for doing so? Living out the Acts 2 church. We value God’s Word above all else and strive to live it out daily. From gathering together in the mornings for devotional time, meeting throughout the week for bible studies, and reaching others for the kingdom, we believe that an Acts 2 community enables us to mobilize more workers for God’s kingdom.
In 2018, a team of 8 college friends who wanted to do something bold for God together, moved from the San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle to Hyde Park and started to reach out to students at the University of Chicago. A voyage had begun.
Our Journey So Far
David Park & his wife, Catarina (or DP & Cata for short), both went to UC Berkeley for college, where they met Jesus (and each other). Since then, they’ve been passionate about mentoring and teaching college students to follow Jesus! On top of leading our local congregation in Hyde Park, they serve as Network Staff for the Acts2 Network. Both are also Religious Advisors on the UChicago campus. You can find DP biking around to explore Hyde Park, and Cata loves visiting the ducks on campus with their two kiddos.
